报告内容:This seminar will present a dual-function device enabling simultaneous vibration control and energy harvesting, namely energy-harvesting electromagnetic damper (EHEMD). The EHEMD consists of an electromagnetic damper (EMD) connected to an energy harvesting circuit (EHC). Considering the electro-mechanical effect, the EHC influences the damping performance of the EHEMD. A feed-forward control EHC is specifically designed to work as a stable constant equivalent resistor with energy harvesting function, and its effectiveness was validated through circuit tests and cyclic tests when connecting an EMD. Then a prototype of the EHEMD was installed in a 135 m-long bridge stay cable and tested as an energy-harvesting passive control strategy, showing comparable control performance with a traditional viscous damper. Subsequently, to enhance the vibration mitigation performance, an energy-harvesting adaptive control strategy was proposed by using the EHEMD. Such an adaptive EHEMD was numerically tested in a high-speed train secondary suspension, performing output power of several hundreds of Watts and superior vibration control performance compared with passive control. After the energy-harvesting passive and adaptive control validations, the dual-function optimizations of the energy-harvesting dampers were theoretically analyzed. The general consistency of the two objectives can be realized under random excitation input. Brief discussions on the isolators and floating structural control by using dual-function devices are also presented.
